[edit] About
The MIT Marching Band is composed of students from a wide variety of backgrounds who enjoy having fun and performing music. We perform at all MIT home football games, and have also appeared at rugby, basketball, ice hockey, water polo, volleyball, baseball, field hockey, lacrosse games, diving meets, track meets, and the Freshman Swim Test - all in our recent history. We have even performed a "Marching Band on Ice" show between periods of an ice hockey game!
Our past accomplishments of note include performing at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Z-Center, playing for the Boston Bruins in 2001, representing MIT along with the Navy ROTC Cadets in the 1999 Quincy Veterans' Day Parade, doing a live performance for the first annual AEPhi Live fundraiser, making a televised appearance at the NEW-8 Athletic Conference women's basketball championship, opening for Roadkill Buffet (an MIT improvisational comedy group) at their IAP show, representing MIT at the City of Cambridge 150th Anniversary Parade, performing the LSC (MIT's provider of $2 on-campus movies--well, now $2.50 -- actually, it's $3) theme music at a sold-out showing of Independence Day and opening for a Wesely Willis concert.[edit] Officers
